How would you sum up Emma?

The Tiny Dancer who’s always original! Though she’s small she always makes her presence known, and has a real passion for all things DANCE!

Emma has danced for as long as she can remember, finally coming to Learning Curves at the age of 11. Even then Lian could see her potential as she went from strength to strength, working her way through the IDTA syllabus and never dropping a mark in any exam taken. She was asked to join the first Mardi Gras team in 2003 and has performed at Her Majesties Theatre, the Royal Albert Hall, and Birmingham’s Symphony Hall with Learning Curves. As someone who new and looked up to Jo, Lian and Nicki knew she was the natural choice for the 1st winner of the Jo Burton O’Donnell trophy. She eventually ended up at Stratford College doing a BTEC dance diploma, achieving a triple distinction. During a year out she joined the Learning Curves teaching team, training with Lian for her Associates and gaining the qualification with 92%. After working on a contemporary routine for the Annual Learning Curves show with Jennie, they set up the newest addition to our class time timetable the JEMz Contemporary Class (Jenn and EMmaZ) and has thrown every effort into making the contemporary experience exciting for everyone.

Emma is now starting a new chapter in her life, having been accepted into the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA). She was accepted as one of 20 from over 4000 applicants and can’t wait to broaden her outlook and styles of dance.

Everyone at Learning Curves expect great things from Emma, who always puts 100% into everything, and we know she’ll be back in between terms to pass on her learning for holiday workshops and of course the JEMz Contemporary Classes.
