Amy loves so many different artists, anything she can dance to! Madonna, Florence + The Machine, Eliza Doolittle, Avril Lavigne, Beyonce, Pixie Lott, Shakira! How would you sum up Amy Ginger?
Amy has been at Learning Curves since the very first lesson at Southam Leisure Centre, many years ago! She has loved dancing with Learning Curves ever since and performed with the rest of the Southam class in the Learning Curves Shows held at the Solihull Arts Complex.
Amy then went on to take many freestyle examinations with the International Dance Teachers Association and proved successful as she achieved honours in almost all of them.
Amy has always had a passion for teaching and this showed when Lian and Katie asked her and Beth to assist with the younger children’s lessons at Southam. Amy loved helping in these classes and it was then that she realised she wanted to train to become a professional dance teacher. She decided that in her year out between Sixth form and University, she wanted to be trained by Lian.
Amy gained her professional teacher qualification in June 2008 and was thrilled with her result of 92%. In her year out, she also attended Stratford College to study AS level Dance and gained a B.
Amy is currently attending Warwick University to study Early Childhood which will lead her into Primary level teaching. She currently trains the Junior Mardi Gras Team with Jennie for their annual performance at the Royal Albert Hall and is in the Senior Team herself! Her third class in Southam participate in the Learning Curves Shows, which she trains and choreographs routines for! Additionally, she holds her own medal sessions at Southam so the students there can work towards their exams each term. She also teaches in afterschool clubs and Saturday dance classes every week at Southam Leisure Centre and will continue to do so as she trains to become a Primary School Teacher!
