Catriona (Cat) was just seven years old when she joined Learning Curves. It was the very first after school dance club that Lian had set up at Knowle Primary School and this is where Cat met her dance teacher, Lian. Little did they know that in years to come Cat would be teaching for Learning Curves at that very same school.
Cat has participated in every Mardi-Gras team including, Her Majesty’s Theatre, Birmingham NEC, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Sadler’s Wells and The Royal Albert hall. Whilst doing so she worked her way through her IDTA exams with Learning Curves including taking her IDTA star 4 in 2004 and being marked 98% by Anna Jones.
At the age of 16 Cat was the first student to be trained for her “Student Teacher” exam with the IDTA, passing with 94%. Cat then trained for her IDTA Associate Exam with Lian and passed in June 2008 with 96%.
Cat now teaches full time for Learning Curves and was nominated for the “IDTA John Dilworth Scholarship Award” by Mrs Mossman who examined Cat for her Associate teacher’s exam. Cat loves to dance so being able to pass her passion on by teaching is just a bonus.
