How would you sum up Emma Lingard?

The Tiny Dancer who’s always original! Though she’s small she always makes her presence known, and has a real passion for all things DANCE!

Emma has danced for as long as she can remember, finally coming to Learning Curves at the age of 11. Even then Lian could see her potential as she went from strength to strength, working her way through the IDTA syllabus and always gaining top marks in every exam taken. She was asked to join the first Mardi Gras team in 2003 and has performed at Her Majesties Theatre, the Royal Albert Hall, and Birmingham’s Symphony Hall with Learning Curves. As someone who knew and looked up to Jo, Lian and Nicki knew she was the natural choice for the 1st winner of the Jo Burton O’Donnell trophy.

She eventually ended up at Stratford College doing a BTEC national diploma in dance and performing arts achieving a triple distinction. During a year out she joined the Learning Curves teaching team, training with Lian for her Associates and gaining the qualification with 92%. After working on a contemporary routine for the Annual Learning Curves show with Jennie, they set up the newest addition to our class time timetable the JEMz Contemporary Class (JEnn and EMmaZ) and has thrown every effort into making the contemporary experience exciting for everyone.

After a series of Auditions Emma was accepted onto the degree course at L.I.P.A (Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts) A stage school in which Paul McCartney is the founder. Emma spent 3 years training professionally in a range of styles and was lucky enough to have workshops off some of the industry’s best. During her time at L.I.P.A Emma also studied acting, singing and musical theatre to make her a well rounded performer – she has come a long way since singing in Jenn’s Car!

Emma Graduated with a 2:1 BA (Hons) Performing Arts Dance degree in July 2010. She currently lives in Liverpool and teaches freelance for schools ( including L.I.P.A) and companies all over the UK.

Emma loves to make surprise returns to Learning Curves and aims to inspire anyone who has the passion for dance that they can achieve whatever they wish with a bit of sweat and hard work.
