Laura started dancing at just 2 years old with a local Solihull ballet and tap school. She joined Learning Curves first class when she was only 6 years old where she met someone who would be teaching her for the next 12 years, Lian! The chances of her becoming a teacher for the school then were minimal due to her mischievous and cheeky behaviour. She attended every Saturday morning class without fail, learning choreography to classics such as Ricky Martin, Shania Twain and the Venga Boys! Laura took IDTA exams with Learning Curves and made her way up into the International Supreme Awards!
Dancing has played such a huge part in Laura’s life and was thrilled when she was asked to be a demonstrator with Cat at Knowle School when she was 16. She then went on to help out at Widney School and Wednesday Medal C lasses. In the meantime she also studied Dance and Drama A level at Arden college and loved every minute of it, broadening her knowledge of dance from Freestyle to Contemporary. After college she decided teaching was exactly what she wanted to do and Lian asked Laura if she would like to be trained at associate level.
Laura has performed in the Mardi Gras teams for many years performing at Sadler’s Wells, The Royal Albert Hall, the NEC, The Symphony Hall and numerous festivals and fetes!
Laura has recently taken her IDTA Associates examination, gaining a very pleasing 92%. Teaching for Learning Curves has always been something she has dreamed of doing and now her dream has become reality! Her passion in life is to dance and now she is teaching for Learning Curves it couldn’t get much better!
