Miss Katie - Teacher

Katie joined Learning Curves in 2005 as a student just eight years old. Throughout school Katie attended several Learning Curves classes to build on her craft. What started off as a hobby for Katie soon became her passion, and more recently part of her career choice. Katie has been part of our JEMz Contemporary team for just over three years now and loves to join in wherever she can!

After leaving school in 2013, Katie auditioned and was selected out of 500 applicants for a place on the Musical Theatre Course at BOA (Birmingham Ormiston Academy). For two years Katie learnt new skills and techniques building and improving herself as a professional performer. Katie graduated BOA with a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts (Musical Theatre) with the highest grade of Triple Distinction Star.

Katie really enjoyed her professional training and taking her IDTA Professional Examinations with Learning Curves. Katie loves seeing the children's confidence bloom and develop as they engage in their love for dance the way she did and still does.

After starting Ballet, Tap and Jazz at the age of three, I fell in love with dance! I began classes with Learning Curves Dance at the age of six, starting out at Hockley Heath Primary School, and later joining IDTA Wednesday Class Three. During my time at Learning Curves I took part in many Mardi Gras performances and performed the Royal Albert Hall, as well as joining Jemz Contemporary company and performing at Sadler’s Wells Theatre.
